Beyond Here Lies Nothing pay heavy homage to the Fallout Series of video games. The author acknowledges this by quoting Fallout New Vegas at the beginning of the book, so the reader can expect an experience that delivers the adventure and tragedy of wandering the wasteland.
The story follows protagonist Lily on her search for the fabled Haven, a promised land of sorts. Along the way she stumbles upon Operative 74, a deserter on the run from the Coalition. The Coalition is the big, bad military expansionist power intent on usurping the surrounding independent and fertile lands. The two are polar opposites but form an uneasy alliance in order to survive the dangers of the wastes.
The book picks up steam after it lays down the ground work of the story, and shapes up to be a real page-turner about friendship, love, survival and personal freedom vs. communal living. The prose and writing style are rock solid. The only potential flaw I feel may be the characters get stuck in different places longer than I wanted them to...mild sagging middle, but that may not be perceived as a flaw to other readers.
Beyond Here Lies Nothing is highly recommended for fans of the post-apocalyptic genre, especially if you appreciate Fallout.

Beyond Here Lies Nothing is spectacular. Very cool idea, and an intriguing page-turner. Characters are strong and impressive. I hope there's more to come soon!
This book engrosses you, filling each of the reader's senses with precise descriptions. The tone stays high energy and tense.
I loved it! It would make a great movie! I can't wait to see what Lee Guthrie has in store for us in the near future! Keep Writing!
Loved it. Precious characters, great exploration of the post-Collapse world while still retaining a sense of humanity and persevering spirit within each character. Additionally, could probably make the world's first Bob Dylan Reference drinking game out of a book and I love that about it. I don't really write reviews for anything, so that's a bigger signifier of how much I enjoyed it.
Just BUY IT AND READ IT ITS GOOD
Beyond Here Lies Nothing follows a young woman in a wasteland trying to find her way. Through her journey, she encounters hard decisions and some life threatening danger. Lee Guthrie makes you want to keep turning every page to find out where the story will lead you next.
I've passed this book off to friends because I want more people to enjoy the story. Sharing good books is always a fun thing to do. Once you have someone to discuss a story with it makes it even more wonderful.
